Registered Nurse – Theatre

The Opportunity

 The Registered Nurse – Theatre will play a critical role in providing specialised perioperative nursing care, ensuring patient safety, and assisting the surgical team in delivering high-quality outcomes. You will be responsible for managing the patient’s journey before, during, and after theatre procedures, maintaining compliance with clinical protocols and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive perioperative care in line with best practice guidelines

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating environment

• Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during procedures

• Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to emergencies

• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

• Support and mentor junior staff in the theatre environment

• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards

Requirements

• Relevant nursing qualification and current SANC registration as a Registered Nurse

• Post-basic Theatre Nursing qualification advantageous

• Minimum of 2 years’ theatre nursing experience

• Strong clinical judgement and ability to work under pressure

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
