Registered Nurse Outreach ICU

As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse ICU based in Cape Town, South Africa. The RN ICU is to deliver expert nursing care to critically ill patients with intricate medical needs. With a focus on vigilant monitoring, administering medications, coordinating interdisciplinary care, and implementing advanced life support techniques, the nurse strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes and facilitate recovery within the challenging environment of the ICU. Responsibilities:

• Clinical expert to be able to confirm, support, advise and assist ICU staff to identify and manage ICU and High Care patients at risk of critical illness and patient deterioration.

• Excellent communication skills to facilitate and liaise with the multidisciplinary team such as doctors, pathologists and expert teams (Code Blue).

• Training skills to train ICU staff and re-skilling ICU staff in the recognition and management of patients developing critical illness

• Excellent interpersonal skills to promote and maintain good working and interpersonal relationships with Management / patients / staff / visitors / doctors and colleagues

• Be able to get expert intervention timeously and ensure patients receive appropriate and timely treatment in a suitable area

• Bridging the gap between ICU staff and Doctors

• Collaborative care, teamwork, and education combined with improvements in resources to ensure integrated delivery of care

• Maintain professional conduct and standards at all times in accordance with the SANC / Job Standards / Hospital Policies

Requirements:

• Must have a Diploma in General Nursing

• Registered with The South African Nursing Council

• Diploma in Medical Surgical Critical care

• Previous experience in a ICU environment
