The opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nursing professional with a passion for education and staff development. The Clinical Facilitator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating clinical training interventions to ensure nursing staff maintain the required competencies, deliver quality patient care, and remain compliant with professional and regulatory standards. The successful candidate may be allocated to a specialist unit or provide support across multiple nursing units within the hospital.
Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate clinical training and development programmes for nursing staff
Develop and maintain clinical competence across all nursing disciplines
Ensure the correct implementation of nursing procedures, policies, and best practice standards
Identify learning and development needs through ongoing assessment and performance evaluation
Design and implement appropriate training interventions to address identified gaps
Promote a culture of continuous professional development and lifelong learning
Facilitate orientation and onboarding programmes for new nursing employees
Assess and monitor clinical competencies to ensure safe and effective patient care
Support compliance with healthcare regulations, nursing standards, and accreditation requirements
Provide mentorship and coaching to nursing staff and students
Assist with clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
Promote infection prevention and control best practices
Support clinical risk management and patient safety initiatives
Maintain accurate training records and reporting documentation
Requirements:
Professional Nurse qualification
Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education or a minimum of 3 years' experience as a mentor
Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing if allocated to a specialist unit
Certificate of Competence in Generic Assessment (Assessor Course)
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Professional Nurse within a hospital environment
Minimum of 1 year mentor experience
Strong facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills
Sound assessment and evaluation skills
Knowledge of nursing processes, procedures, and clinical best practices
Understanding of relevant healthcare legislation and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles
Experience in clinical risk management and quality improvement initiatives
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
