Registered Nurse – Theatre

The opportunity

This is a specialised role for a Theatre Nurse to support patients through all phases of perioperative care. You’ll work closely with the surgical team to ensure optimal outcomes, uphold clinical standards, and contribute to continuous improvements in surgical care delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care across pre-, intra- and postoperative stages

• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control measures

• Monitor patient condition and vital signs throughout procedures

• Manage surgical instruments and assist with theatre setup

• Supervise and support enrolled nurses and healthcare assistants

• Participate in clinical audits and continuous quality improvement

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical and stock records

• Support training and mentorship of junior team members

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with valid SANC registration

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a surgical/theatre role in private healthcare

• Theatre technique or operating room post-basic qualification (advantageous)

• Minimum 1 year experience in private hospitals

• Trained in Basic Life Support

• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
