Ophthalmologist (Specialising in Cataract Surgery)

The client

Our client is a community-focused eye clinic offering accessible, high-quality ophthalmic care. The clinic is dedicated to improving vision and overall eye health through expert medical and surgical services.

The opportunity

This role is ideal for a specialist Ophthalmologist with a focus on cataract diagnosis and surgery. You will provide comprehensive eye care, particularly managing cataract patients from consultation through surgery and recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a range of eye conditions, particularly cataracts

• Perform cataract surgeries using modern techniques

• Manage pre- and post-operative care for cataract patients

• Provide general ophthalmology consultations and treatments

• Collaborate with clinic staff and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Requirements

• MBChB with specialisation in Ophthalmology

• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Specialist Ophthalmologist

• Proven experience and training in cataract surgery

• Strong clinical and surgical skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• A compassionate, patient-centred approach
