Nursing Services Manager

The opportunity

The Nursing Services Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership across the nursing division, ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality patient care and compliance with healthcare standards. This role will oversee nursing operations, staff management, clinical governance and patient experience while working closely with hospital leadership and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight across all nursing and clinical operations

• Ensure high standards of patient care, safety and clinical quality

• Drive compliance with healthcare regulations, policies and accreditation standards

• Manage nursing staff performance, development and workforce planning

• Oversee budgeting, resource management and operational efficiencies within the nursing division

• Foster a positive patient experience and support a culture of continuous improvement

• Work collaboratively with doctors, specialists and multidisciplinary teams

• Monitor clinical risks, incidents and quality assurance initiatives

• Support recruitment, retention and succession planning within the nursing department

Requirements

• Registered with SANC as a Professional Nurse

• Relevant postgraduate qualification in Nursing Management or Healthcare Management advantageous

• Previous experience in a Nursing Services Manager or senior nursing leadership role within a private hospital environment

• Strong leadership, operational and people management skills

• Sound understanding of clinical governance and hospital operations

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

• Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment
