Counselling / Neuropsychologist

As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, we now have an opportunity available for a Counselling / Neuropsychologist to be based in Hout Bay, Cape Town.

The Client

Our client is a well-established private rehabilitation facility specialising in addiction recovery and mental health treatment. With a strong focus on holistic, patient-centred care, they provide structured therapeutic programmes supported by a multidisciplinary team in a calm, restorative environment.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Counselling or Neuropsychologist looking to build their clinical experience within a supportive and structured rehabilitation setting. You will work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team, gaining exposure to addiction, mental health, and dual-diagnosis cases while developing your therapeutic and assessment skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological assessments and contribute to treatment planning

• Facilitate individual therapy sessions under supervision

• Support group therapy sessions within structured programmes

• Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and case reviews

• Assist in monitoring patient progress and adapting treatment plans

• Provide psychoeducation to patients and, where appropriate, their families

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Psychology (Counselling or Neuropsychology)

• Registered with HPCSA as a Psychologist (or in the process of registering)

• Recently completed community service or due to complete shortly

• Strong interest in addiction, mental health, and rehabilitation

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
