As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Case Manager (Spinal Programme Management) to be based in Pretoria, South Africa.


 The Client

 RX Group is a specialist healthcare company based in Pretoria, focused on delivering innovative managed care services across a range of disciplines. Their dedicated spinal programme management unit is designed to ensure high-quality, cost-effective treatment outcomes for patients with spinal conditions. The team works closely with funders, healthcare providers, and members to coordinate and manage care throughout the recovery journey.

   

The Opportunity

This position is responsible for the clinical oversight and case management of spinal programme members. The successful candidate will ensure appropriate treatment, authorisation processes, patient engagement, and stakeholder collaboration while upholding medical scheme rules and evidence-based guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage spinal-related hospital admissions and associated funding requests

  • Coordinate patient care pathways from pre-authorization to discharge

  • Review treatment plans for appropriateness and clinical justification

  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams including specialists, therapists, and funders

  • Monitor outcomes and recommend ongoing care or rehabilitation

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and case notes

  • Contribute to policy updates and clinical guideline development

  • Support escalations, queries, and appeals processes

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Nursing

  • Current SANC registration as a Registered Nurse

  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience, preferably in orthopaedics, rehabilitation, or spinal care

  • Previous case management or utilisation review experience is highly advantageous

  • Knowledge of managed care principles and funding guidelines

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Computer literate with strong administrative capabilities
