As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Manager to be based in Gauteng.


The client

Our client is a South African technology company delivering secure, cloud-based digital solutions tailored to healthcare environments. Their platforms support operational efficiency through web and mobile applications designed to enhance practice management and clinical workflows.


The opportunity

The Technical Support Manager will lead the technical support function for web and mobile applications, ensuring efficient resolution of first and second line support queries while managing a small team. This role requires a confident, client-facing technical leader with strong troubleshooting capability, SaaS platform experience and the ability to oversee system configuration, deployment and client onboarding within healthcare-focused environments.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee first and second line technical support for web and mobile applications

  • Act as the escalation point for complex technical and system-related queries

  • Lead, mentor and manage a small technical support team

  • Ensure efficient handling, tracking and resolution of support requests

  • Perform system configuration, deployment and implementation tasks

  • Support client onboarding and ongoing system usage

  • Collaborate with development teams to enhance system performance and user experience

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of training materials

  • Travel to client sites when required to support implementation and configuration

  • Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous system improvement


Requirements:

  • Min 2 years experience in similar role in senior capacity (team lead, manager)

  • Min 5 years experience within technical support for web and mobile applications

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken

  • Based in Gauteng, Johannesburg or Pretoria

  • Proven experience managing first and second line support functions

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience managing and mentoring a small team

  • Proficiency in SQL

  • Strong general Microsoft knowledge across core applications

  • Experience working with SaaS products and cloud-based platforms

  • Experience with configuration and deployment processes

  • Previous quality assurance experience advantageous

  • Healthcare industry experience highly advantageous, including exposure to practice management systems or clinical applications

  • Previous healthcare provider background beneficial within private healthcare and medical, allied health or nursing

  • Professional and confident in client-facing environments

  • Willingness to travel when required
