Registered Nurse Cardiothoracic Theatre Scrub

The opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to join a specialist cardiothoracic theatre team, delivering safe and comprehensive nursing care in accordance with professional scope of practice. The successful candidate will work in a high-acuity operating theatre environment, supporting complex cardiothoracic procedures and contributing to exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team

• Identify, prevent and manage clinical risks to ensure patient safety

• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a supportive and professional environment

• Maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records

• Contribute to a learning environment that builds staff competence and clinical excellence

• Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are accurately recorded and charged

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing

• Postgraduate experience in an Operating Theatre with cardiothoracic exposure

• Midwifery qualification and postgraduate Operating Theatre qualification advantageous

• Knowledge of infection prevention and control, pharmacology and nursing processes

• Strong patient assessment and clinical documentation skills

• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office

• Knowledge of relevant nursing legislation and risk identification

• Basic Life Support training, with ACLS, ATLS or PALS advantageous
