As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to be based in Fordsburg, Johannesburg.
The client
A 30-bed surgical clinic that provides safe, patient-centred surgical and post-operative care. Their focus is on delivering high-quality nursing aligned to clinical standards and best practice.
The opportunity
This role will see you caring for surgical and post-operative patients, working closely with surgeons and physicians in a supportive, fast-paced ward environment .
Key responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care within the general surgical ward.
Monitor, assess, and document patients’ conditions and recovery progress.
Administer prescribed medication and treatments.
Support surgeons and physicians with post-operative management.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Educate patients and their families on care plans, procedures, and recovery.
Ensure infection control and patient safety protocols are followed.
Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure positive outcomes .
Requirements
Registered Nurse with current SANC registration.
Post-basic qualification in Operating Room Nursing advantageous.
3–5 years’ experience in a surgical or general ward environment.
Strong clinical skills with a focus on patient safety and care standards.
Ability to adapt and work well in a dynamic, team-oriented setting .
