Psychiatrist

As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatrist to be based in Durban.

The client

Our client is a well-established private healthcare provider committed to mental wellness and psychiatric care. They operate several specialist in-patient facilities across Durban, offering integrated and supportive environments for both patients and practitioners.

The opportunity

This role offers the chance to work across a number of in-patient psychiatric facilities in Berea and surrounding areas. You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team and enjoy the flexibility and autonomy of private practice while earning a highly competitive income.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to in-patients

• Conduct assessments, formulate treatment plans, and monitor progress

• Liaise with psychologists, nurses, and allied health professionals

• Maintain accurate and compliant patient records

• Contribute to care team discussions and case reviews

Requirements

• Registered with the HPCSA as a Specialist Psychiatrist

• Previous experience in in-patient psychiatric settings

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work independently across multiple locations

• Commitment to holistic patient care and mental health outcomes
