Psychiatrist

The client

Our client is a specialised private mental health and addiction treatment facility providing evidence-based, patient-centred care within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. The organisation focuses on holistic treatment programmes that support long-term recovery and mental wellbeing.

The opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to clients with mental health and addiction-related conditions. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team to deliver high-quality assessments, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health and addiction disorders

• Develop and implement treatment plans including medication management and therapeutic interventions

• Provide individual and group therapy where appropriate

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care

• Provide consultation and clinical guidance to other healthcare professionals

• Document treatment plans, clinical progress and patient outcomes accurately

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences

• Provide crisis intervention when required

• Maintain ethical, professional and compassionate standards of care

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements

Job Requirements:

• Qualified Psychiatrist

• Registered with HPCSA

• Experience working in addiction and mental health settings

• High command of English

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

• Strong organisational and time management skills

• Compassionate and non-judgemental approach to patient care
