Primary Healthcare Nurse

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and compassionate Primary Healthcare Nurse to deliver professional nursing care within an occupational and primary healthcare setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting workplace health and safety, managing employee wellness initiatives, providing primary healthcare services, and ensuring compliance with occupational health standards. This role is ideal for a proactive healthcare professional who is passionate about preventative care and fostering a healthy workforce.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct health assessments and screenings for employees

• Provide primary healthcare services and treatment within the clinic environment

• Manage workplace injuries and coordinate appropriate care and follow-up treatment

• Administer medication and dispense treatment in accordance with regulatory requirements

• Develop and implement employee health and wellness programmes

• Promote health education and preventative healthcare initiatives

• Monitor workplace environments and identify potential health and safety risks

• Ensure compliance with occupational health regulations and company policies

• Maintain accurate clinical records and reporting documentation

• Provide guidance on healthy workplace practices and employee wellbeing

• Collaborate with management and relevant stakeholders to promote a safe and healthy work environment

• Travel between company premises as required to provide healthcare services and support

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with a valid SANC registration

• Valid dispensing licence is essential

• Post-basic qualification in Primary Health Care or Public Health advantageous

• Minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience within a primary healthcare clinic environment

• Sound clinical assessment and patient management skills

• Knowledge of occupational health and workplace wellness principles advantageous

• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office

• Own reliable vehicle and willingness to travel between company sites when required

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organisational and administrative abilities
