Occupational Therapist

As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to be based in Kenilworth, Cape Town.

The Client

Our client is a private, multi-disciplinary mental health and addiction treatment facility located in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. Their team is dedicated to providing holistic, evidence-based care to individuals recovering from psychiatric conditions and substance use disorders.

The Opportunity

This is a fulfilling role for an Occupational Therapist passionate about supporting clients in a structured, therapeutic environment. You’ll play a vital role in helping individuals rebuild life skills, develop functional routines, and work toward long-term independence and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct functional assessments and therapeutic evaluations

• Design and implement individual and group therapy programs

• Promote life skills development, self-care, and vocational readiness

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and counsellors

• Maintain accurate clinical notes and treatment documentation

• Assist with reintegration and discharge planning

Requirements

• BSc in Occupational Therapy with current HPCSA registration

• At least 1–2 years’ experience in a psychiatric or addiction care setting

• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques relevant to recovery

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
