As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Receptionist to be based in Cape Town.
The client
Our client is a specialist orthopedic practice committed to delivering patient-centred care through an integrated, professional, and efficient approach and specialising in feet and ankles.
The opportunity
The Medical Receptionist will oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice while ensuring a warm, welcoming experience for all patients. You will manage administrative, operational, and financial processes, acting as the central point of contact for patients and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities:
Manage the patient care pathway from initial consultation through follow-up, addressing medical patient queries
Provide warm reception to patients, vendors, and visitors
Manage appointments and Dr's calendar using Elixir, integrating online and direct bookings
Prepare and manage patient files, reports, correspondence, and ensure POPI compliance
Oversee daily operations, billing through Elixir, invoicing, and financial reporting
Coordinate with hospitals and other healthcare providers for integrated care
Manage practice rooms, office supplies, and equipment to maintain a professional environment
Liaise with administrative staff to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality patient care
Requirements
Matric
Minimum 3 years' experience in healthcare practice management
Strong computer skills, including experience with Elixir
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in English and Afrikaans
Self-starter with the ability to multitask efficiently
Familiarity with medical aids, billing, coding, and hospital workflows
Advantageous: experience in an orthopaedic practice
