The Opportunity
As a Specialist Anaesthetist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality anaesthesia and perioperative care. You will work across multiple disciplines, ensuring best practices in patient outcomes, and will have opportunities for clinical leadership and mentoring. Based in Auckland, this position provides a collaborative environment where you will be supported to contribute to continuous service improvement.
You will I do?
Provide expert anaesthetic care, including pre- and post-operative management.
Supervise and mentor trainees and anaesthesia technicians.
Participate in acute pain medicine and emergency care services.
Be part of an on-call Anaesthetic and Perioperative team.
Contribute to the department’s research and educational programs.

What will I need?
Full vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in Anaesthesia.
Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
Proven experience in providing high-standard anaesthetic services.
A commitment to biculturalism and achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori.
Experience in clinical leadership and the ability to supervise trainees effectively.
Familiarity with New Zealand’s healthcare standards and public health systems is highly desirable.
Salary
Your salary will be based on the ASMS (Association of Salaried Medical Specialists) collective agreement, ensuring competitive remuneration aligned with your expertise and experience.
