The client

Our client is a highly regarded specialist nephrology practice committed to delivering exceptional kidney care across hospital, ICU, dialysis, and outpatient settings. The practice offers a collaborative, patient-centred environment focused on clinical excellence, mentorship, and the professional development of healthcare professionals within a multidisciplinary team.


The opportunity

This is a unique 12-month fixed-term developmental opportunity for a motivated Clinical Associate with a strong interest in Internal Medicine and a desire to develop specialised nephrology and dialysis expertise. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced nephrologists and senior Clinical Associates, gaining supervised exposure across multiple clinical environments including hospital wards, ICU support, chronic and acute dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and outpatient nephrology services.


This role is ideally suited to an early-career Clinical Associate who is eager to learn, thrives in a busy clinical setting, and is passionate about delivering compassionate care to medically complex patients.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of nephrology patients within hospital wards and outpatient settings

  • Support nephrology care within ICU environments

  • Participate in chronic haemodialysis and acute dialysis services

  • Assist with peritoneal dialysis patient management

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and patient documentation

  • Participate in bedside learning, case discussions, and clinical development activities

  • Travel between hospitals and dialysis units within eastern Johannesburg as required

  • Deliver professional and compassionate patient care at all times


Requirements:

  • Qualified Clinical Associate registered with the HPCSA

  • Approximately 2-5 years post-graduation experience

  • Previous exposure to Internal Medicine

  • Good computer literacy and ability to work with electronic medical records

  • Valid driver's licence

  • Willingness to travel between multiple clinical sites

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Professional, reliable, and motivated work ethic

  • Interest in Internal Medicine and nephrology

  • Ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment 


Advantageous

  • Exposure to ICU or emergency medicine

  • Basic procedural skills

  • Experience with central venous line insertion

  • BLS, CPR, or ACLS certification

  • Previous dialysis or nephrology exposure
