As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, we have a role for an Assistant Pharmacy Manager based in Pretoria who will assist the pharmacy manager in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department. You will help manage the pharmacy staff, oversee inventory, and ensure that medications are dispensed accurately and in a timely manner. Your role will also involve collaborating with healthcare professionals and ensuring that the pharmacy complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients in both hospital and retail settings.
Assume responsibility for managing patient pharmaceutical care in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
Uphold pharmaceutical standards, manage risk, and maintain quality assurance within the hospital. Implement clinical and quality initiatives to ensure an effective and efficient pharmaceutical service.
Stay informed of changes affecting the local business environment.
Demonstrate the ability to establish, manage, and maintain antibiotic stewardship in the hospital.
Foster safe medication practices throughout the hospital by collaborating with nursing staff.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, including CSA, FAD, POPIA, and their implications for medication-related activities.
Develop and implement customized quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care outcomes within the pharmacy.
Display strong leadership, staff management, and performance assessment capabilities.
Job Requirements:
A relevant Pharmaceutical qualification (B. Pharm. Degree or Dip. Pharm)
Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council
A relevant management qualification will be an advantage
Sound knowledge of Private Hospital Pharmacy business operations.
Advanced level of Computer literacy.
Previous experience in the management of a Private Hospital Pharmacy would be advantageous
