As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for two ALS Medics to be based in Queenstown and Butterworth, Eastern Cape.


The client

Our client is a growing emergency medical services provider delivering advanced pre-hospital care, patient transport and event medical support. The organisation is committed to clinical excellence, rapid response and high standards of patient care across multiple operational bases.


The opportunity

The Advanced Life Support Medic will provide advanced pre-hospital emergency care to critically ill and injured patients. This role requires a highly skilled and decisive professional who can perform complex clinical interventions while ensuring patient stability and delivering high-quality care in emergency situations.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced patient assessments and clinical decision making

  • Manage advanced airways including intubation and supraglottic airway placement

  • Provide advanced cardiac life support, including ECG interpretation and defibrillation

  • Administer emergency medications in accordance with clinical protocols

  • Establish and manage IV and IO access

  • Treat a range of medical emergencies including cardiac, respiratory, neurological and diabetic cases

  • Manage trauma patients, including haemorrhage control and shock management

  • Monitor and support patient stability during transport

  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, hospitals and emergency services

  • Maintain accurate patient care records and reporting

  • Ensure equipment readiness, vehicle safety and infection control standards

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff when required


Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Emergency Care

  • Current HPCSA registration

  • Valid Professional Driving Permit

  • Compliance with CPD and CPG requirements

  • ACLS, PALS, ATLS and BLS certifications advantageous

  • Ability to work shifts including day and night rotations

  • Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Fluency in English with Xhosa and or Afrikaans advantageous
