Country Head

As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Country Head based in Cape Town, South Africa. The Country Head is to lead and maintain the strategies and operational activities aimed to get marketing authorizations for Pharmaceutical products in the Country. Manages all employees in Country, to assure that their goals are achieved according to the Company’s strategic plans, policies and standards. Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of technical activities aiming to achieve the Company’s objectives in the Country.

  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies aiming to obtain marketing authorizations and expand the Company’s portfolio in the Country.

  • Support to business, sales, marketing and GR areas aiming to achieve the Company’s overall objectives in the Country.

  • Support and control of the R&D/Clinical/Registration department strategies implementation of the Company’s products in Country

  • Support of marketing/MSL activities in the Country, aiming to increase the market share of Company’s products

  • Establishing the infrastructure and keeping a local team capable to support all the activities in the Country and plan the work of the technical- regulatory-scientific employees according to the Company’s strategies.

  • Prepare the budget related to regulatory activities and scientific projects (e.g. clinical studies), planning and following the budget of the subsidiary according to the Company’s strategies.

  • HR management: direct management of technical subordinates in the subsidiary. Training and development, motivation, goal setting and the monitoring of their achievement, in accordance to the plans and objectives.

  • To develop and implement the strategy of office in Country, including but not limited to regulatory, clinical research, quality, pharmacovigilance and GR, and develop/implement other strategies, such as business development, marketing, pricing, sales, PR activities where applicable

  • Candidate will be working with chief managers of the regional divisions, as well as Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Research, Quality, Marketing, Business Development, Sales and GR.

  • Candidate will collaborate closely with technical, business and legal representatives of Country partners, interact with representatives from health authorities and governments of Country where the Company maintains activities or targets to expand its presence in the region, KOLs, consultants, outsourcing companies, and others.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g.,Medicine, Marketing, Business, Healthcare).

  • Proven experience in the same role, in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry in the last 5 years.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify sales trends, market opportunities, and areas for improvement.

  • Excellent knowledge of market access strategies

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning abilities, with a focus on market entry and expansion.

  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and processes related to drug approval and market entry.

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of additional languages specific to the country of market entry is a plus
